Officers from District Five and the Milwaukee Police Department’s Robbery Task Force arrested two suspects who fled from officers in a car stolen in an armed robbery. The initial carjacking happened around 10:00 p.m. on August 16 in the 4200 block of N. Teutonia Avenue when the victim, a 27-year-old Milwaukee woman, had her 1995 Honda Accord taken at gunpoint. Around 11:00 p.m. on August 17, that vehicle was spotted by officers in the 2700 block of W. Atkinson Avenue. The officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver sped off from the scene. A pursuit was initiated and a few minutes later in the 5100 block of N. 32nd Street, the Accord drove over the curb into a vacant field and became disabled. Three people from inside the car fled and two were arrested. MPD continues to search for the third. The arrested individuals are an 18-year-old Milwaukee man and a 24-year-old Milwaukee man. The 18-year-old has a lengthy arrest record dating back to 2010 and the 24-year-old is a convicted felon with an arrest record dating back to 2007. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
