Six suspects are arrested by Milwaukee Police following their involvement in several armed robberies. District One officers saw a car matching the description of a vehicle whose occupants had committed an armed robbery in the 2100 block of E. Bradford Avenue at 10:20 p.m. on September 11. In that incident, the suspects approached a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman, struck her with a blunt object, and attempted to steal her cell phone before fleeing. The car used in the offense was stolen earlier in the evening from an address in the 2600 block of N. Oakland Ave. Officers located the stolen car near N. 2nd Street and W. Locust Street and attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled. A pursuit was initiated and six minutes later, the car crashed into a light pole in the 2700 block of N. 60th Street and the suspects fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, all six suspects were taken into custody. The male suspects are two 14-year-olds, one 16-year-old, and one 18-year-old. The female suspects are a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, all from Milwaukee. No one was injured in the crash or during the pursuit. Officers found items in the stolen car that were taken in two recent East Side robberies. This investigation is active and ongoing and Milwaukee Police will present these cases to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
