Milwaukee Police are investigating a serious injury accident that happened in the 3800 block on N. 27th Street around 11:30 p.m. on June 18. A 26-year-old man operating a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo at a very high rate of speed northbound on 27th Street struck a 2006 Pontiac G6 containing a man in his 30’s and a 32-year-old woman who appeared to be making a U-turn to go south on 27th St. The 26-year-old driver then attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by Milwaukee Police who were nearby. He was not injured and was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated after he failed initial field sobriety tests at the scene. The 32-year-old female passenger of the G6 suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The male in his 30’s who was driving was severely injured and is currently being treated at a local hospital. All those involved in this accident are from Milwaukee and our investigation into the accident is ongoing.
