MPD Investigating Two Overnight Vehicle Crashes (March 27), One Fatal

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that happened around 4:00 a.m. on March 27 in the 8000 block of W. Appleton Avenue. The vehicle, a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, was eastbound when the car left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car, a 28-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Milwaukee Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Milwaukee Police are also investigating a motor vehicle crash that happened at about 1:40 a.m. on March 27 near the intersection of N. 31st Street and W. North Avenue. A Chevy Impala hit a fire hydrant and the driver of the vehicle fled from the scene. The Milwaukee Department of Public Works was called in to shut off the water. MPD continues the investigation and search for the driver.
