MPD Investigating November 8 North Side Homicide, Shooting

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a homicide and a related shooting that happened around 6:00 p.m. on November 8 in the 800 block of W. Galena Street.  Following a physical altercation between at least two people, members of an onlooking crowd began to exchange gunfire.  As a result of the exchange, a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was shot and a 24-year-old Milwaukee man was seriously injured. The woman was conveyed to a local hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department and her injuries are not life threatening. The man was shot and entered a vehicle to flee the scene.  He drove to the 1000 block of W. Walnut Street and crashed into the retaining wall of a bridge where he died from his injuries. MPD continues to search for suspects and investigate the circumstances surrounding this event. The bridge was not damaged in the crash.
