Milwaukee Police are investigating a hit and run a crash that happened on November 5th at about 8 p.m. in the 1900 block of W. Bolivar Avenue. The victim was in the roadway when she was struck by a white four-door sport utility vehicle. The vehicle fled the area northbound on S. 20th Street and is believed to have front end damage. Two off-duty Milwaukee police officers saw the victim lying on the roadway and began first aid. The Milwaukee Fire Department responded and attempted lifesaving measures but the victim was later pronounced dead on the scene. The victim is a 35-year-old Milwaukee woman. The circumstances leading up to this crash are still under investigation. MPD continues to seek the striking vehicle and the investigation is ongoing. UPDATE (11/7/15 at 9:40 a.m.): Milwaukee Police have located and recovered the striking vehicle responsible for the November 5 fatal hit-and-run at S. 20th Street and W. Bolivar Ave. The car was located in Franklin on November 6. A 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, who were passengers in the car, were taken into custody. MPD is currently seeking the driver, a 19-year-old man. MPD will present the case against the two passengers to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
UPDATE (11/8/15 at 3:10 p.m.): The driver, a 19 year-old man, turned himself in to District One on November 7.
