MPD Investigating July 9 Unrelated West Side Shootings

Milwaukee Police are investigating two unrelated shootings that happened on July 9 on Milwaukee’s West Side.  The first happened just after 12:00 a.m. in the 3100 block of W. Wisconsin Ave. The circumstances surrounding this shooting are unclear. Witnesses observed the victim laying in the median suffering from a gunshot wound. The 21-year-old male victim was conveyed to a local hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department. The victim’s injuries are serious, but he is expected to survive.  MPD continues to seek a suspect(s) in the incident.

The second shooting happened around 4:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of W. Wells Street. The initial investigation reveals the 37-year-old male victim was standing on the sidewalk when a suspect approached and shot him. He was conveyed to a local hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department.  Additional circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.   MPD continues to seek a suspect(s) in the incident.
