MPD Investigates October 10 Shooting, Motorycle Accident

Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 3100 block of W. Hopkins Street shortly after 10 a.m. on October 10. A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was shot outside of a business. He was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Investigators believe the victim was targeted. No arrests have been made.

A Milwaukee Police motorcycle was struck by a car at N. 35th Street and W. North Avenue at about 11 a.m. on October 10. The officer was turning northbound onto 35th Street from eastbound on North Avenue when an eastbound car traveling in the westbound lanes sideswiped the motorcycle. The car, described as a black 4-door Nissan with tinted windows, continued eastbound on North Avenue after striking the motorcycle. The officer, a 43-year-old male with 18 years of service, is assigned to the Neighborhood Task Force. He was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and has since been released. Anyone with information on the striking auto is asked to call Milwaukee Police.
