Milwaukee Police responded to the Thoreau School (7878 N. 60th Street) on Thursday, September 15th, around 1:00 p.m. to conduct an investigation. As the investigation progressed, a 13-year old female student with whom the officers were speaking, became uncooperative and combative with officers. As they attempted to control the student an officer’s firearm discharged while still in the holster. The student suffered a graze wound and was transported to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
