The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened at about 11:35 p.m. on April 11 on the Northwest Side. A 72-year-old man was driving his motorcycle northbound on N. 76thStreet, and was approaching the intersection of W. Thurston Circle. At the same time, a 24-year-old man was driving his car southbound on N. 76th Street and began to make a left turn, but failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle driver and both vehicles collided. The 72-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The 24-year-old suspect remained at the scene and was suspected of operating his vehicle while using marijuana. The suspect failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. The investigation has revealed that the suspect was never issued a valid driver’s license and his license status is suspended. MPD will present charges against the suspect to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
