Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened in the 5000 block of N. 60th St. around 6:50 p.m. on May 23. A 2007 Yamaha Motorcycle northbound on N. 60th Street struck a 2007 Ford Fusion that had just pulled out from a stop sign on westbound W. Fairmount Avenue. Both passengers of the motorcycle were ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the southbound lanes of N. 60th Street. The 35 year-old driver of the motorcycle suffered a non life threatening injury. His 35 year-old female passenger suffered a serious head injury, and was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The 56-year-old male driver of the Ford fusion was also transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury and is cooperating with our investigation. At this time it appears that the speed of the motorcycle was a factor in this accident. The motorcycle driver was arrested for Knowingly Operating with a Suspended License Resulting in Death. Charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
