The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash that happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. on April 22 in the 700 block of E. Euclid Avenue. A 17-year-old male from Milwaukee was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck eastbound on E. Euclid Avenue approaching S. Taylor Avenue when it is believed he opened his door while driving to examine a possible mechanical issue. At that time, a 59-year-old man was driving a 2003 Honda Civic northbound on S. Taylor Avenue when he collided with the pickup at the uncontrolled intersection. The driver of the pickup truck was thrown from his vehicle and died on the way to the hospital. Three other passengers in the pickup truck were uninjured. They are a 17-year-old male and two 18-year-old men. The driver of the Civic was not injured in the crash.
