On September 30, 2012, Milwaukee Police Officers Matthew Davis and Jonathan Caya conducted a traffic stop of a drug suspect. PO Caya searched the vehicle and observed a large bag containing 11 smaller plastic baggies containing cocaine. The cocaine was recovered.
On October 1, 2012, Milwaukee Police Officers Ryan Bergemann, Miguel Correa, Detective Abner Valcarcel and FBI Special Agent Travis Homer assigned to the Milwaukee HIDTA Drug Gang Task Force responded to the 2600 block of W. Legion which is the drug suspect’s residence and observed his vehicle there. Detective Eugene Nagler, a K-9 handler, responded to this location with K-9 Officer Duke. K-9 Duke alerted to the presence of controlled substances on the outside of the suspect’s vehicle, and subsequently a warrant was obtained for the vehicle. Inside a hidden compartment was four kilos of cocaine along with $36,500 in cash. An additional $1,000 was located under a cover on the driver’s seat and an additional $6,600 was located in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s residence in the 2600 block of W. Legion where $65,000 was recovered in a shoebox in the kitchen of the residence. A search warrant was obtained for an additional related residence in the 1600 block of W. Lincoln where $35,305 was recovered.
On October 1, 2012 Milwaukee HIDTA Officers conducted an interview at a home in the 2200 block of S. 21st street, which is another residence that the drug suspect is associated with. Officers located and recovered a 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson pick-up truck and a receipt for the truck, which belongs to the suspect.
