Drugs, guns, and a large sum of money are off the streets thanks to good work by Milwaukee Police Department officers from District 7. On January 7 at around 5:25 pm, officers made a traffic stop on a car in the 3400 block of W. Hampton Avenue. As officers questioned those inside the car, they discovered more than $27,000 in cash on one of the passengers. Another one of the passengers was found to be carrying a semi-automatic pistol.
A short time later, officers conducted a further search at one of the suspect’s homes in the 5100 block of W. Keefe Avenue. They found cocaine, marijuana, four guns (one of them reported stolen by a police department in another state), and more than $7,000 in cash.
In all, three people were taken into custody and are facing charges. They are a 29-year-old Milwaukee man, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man, and a 32-year-old Milwaukee man. Two of the suspects are convicted felons and have lengthy criminal records. The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
