MPD Ambassadors Participate in Mayor’s Walk

Milwaukee Police Ambassadors, along with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn, and other neighborhood partners took part in the Mayor’s “Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days” challenge in Washington Park on Tuesday, August 18.

Walkers gathered at the Washington Park Senior Center and heard from both the Mayor and the Chief as well as three of the ambassadors. The MPD Ambassador Program is part of the Mayor’s comprehensive workforce strategy Compete Milwaukee. The program partners are the City of Milwaukee, MPD, and the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board.

The group then walked through Washington Park and ended near the playground with an ice cream social. MPD’s Office of Community Outreach and Education provided free books for children in attendance.  To check out more pictures from the walk, visit MPD’s Facebook page.

Thanks to everyone for joining the walk on a beautiful day!
