A teenage male is arrested for armed robbery by the Milwaukee Police Department after his mother called police to alert them of the crime. District Three officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of W. Wright Street at about 6:10 p.m. on November 18 for a report of an armed robbery. The two female victims, a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman and her 62-year-old mother, were walking when two suspects approached them. One of the suspects had a gun and both demanded their valuables. The suspects took the items and fled on foot. A short time later, the mother of one of the suspects called MPD and told officers that her son had returned home with items she believed were stolen. Officers located the 15-year-old suspect near N. 27th Street and W. Center Street and following a brief foot chase, took him into custody in the 2600 block of W. Fond du Lac Avenue. Officers found items belonging to the victims on the suspect. Police are still searching for the second suspect. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
