Milwaukee Police Investigate Fleeing Vehicle That Struck Officer

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating an incident during which a fleeing auto struck a District Seven officer who was standing near it. Officers were on foot patrol in the 3200 block of W. Villard Avenue on May 21 around 1:50 a.m. when the officers saw a firearm in a vehicle and attempted to speak with the male occupant. The occupant drove toward an officer slightly striking him. A second officer discharged his firearm at the driver of the fleeing auto. A pursuit was initiated until Milwaukee Police lost sight of the vehicle. The officer that was struck did not require medical attention.  The vehicle was recovered near N. 91st Street and W. Bradley Road a short time later. A male person of interest was taken into custody and Milwaukee Police are investigating to determine if anyone in the fleeing auto was injured when the officer discharged his weapon.
