Five armed robbery suspects were charged Thursday, January 23 after committing three armed robberies on Milwaukee’s East Side within 40 minutes. Just before 3 am on January 18, a citizen called 911 to report a robbery that took place in the 2500 block of N. Maryland Avenue. The caller stated the suspects fled in a car heading southbound. Within minutes, two officers from District 1, Mark Kubicek and Richard Ticcioni, located the car and stopped it. Inside the vehicle was property taken in previous armed robberies that same night, in the 1600 block of N. Astor Street at approximately 2:10 am and in the 1700 block of N. Arlington Place at approximately 2:40 am. In all three incidents, at least one of the suspects displayed a gun while another demanded belongings from the victim.
Five people were taken into custody. 19-year-old Erik Tejada of Milwaukee, 21-year-old Jeriel Rodriguez of Milwaukee, and 21-year-old Willmarvin Diaz-Boria of Greenfield each face three separate counts of armed robbery. 17-year-old Mary Molale and 18-year-old Abigail Baez, both of Milwaukee, each face one count of armed robbery.
