A Milwaukee teenager, on probation from the Wisconsin State Juvenile Department of Corrections, was arrested by Milwaukee Police officers after carjacking a female victim in the Riverwest Neighborhood. District Five officers responded to the 2900 block of N. Humboldt Boulevard around 11:50 a.m. on May 29 for a report of an armed robbery and were told the male suspect approached the victim, a 31-year-old woman, pointed a gun at her, and demanded her car keys. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s car, a 2012 Honda Civic, but was spotted a few minutes later by officers in the area. The officers began to pursue the vehicle until the car got a flat tire near N. 42nd Street and W. Silver Spring Drive and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect, a 16-year-old Milwaukee male, was taken into custody and officers found a stolen gun on him. The suspect has previous arrests for Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, Theft, Operating Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent-Passenger, Possession of Dangerous Weapon by Person Under 18. Milwaukee Police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
