A juvenile is arrested by District Four officers of the Milwaukee Police Department for arson and is believed to be responsible for three other crimes. Officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of N. Prentiss Street at about 10:35 p.m. on August 12 for a complaint of property damage. When officers arrived, they talked to the caller who said a young male she knew from the neighborhood stuck paper into the gas tank of her car and lit it on fire. The paper burned away without incident but did cause damage to the gas cap. The suspect, who is 12-years-old, was taken into custody later that evening. The juvenile admitted to investigators that he started the fire. He also confessed to committing a burglary at the same location on August 2 and arson in the 5900 block of N. 71st Street on August 3. He is also believed to be responsible for a graffiti incident in the 7200 block of W. Sheridan Avenue on August 9. All four cases will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
