Injured Officer Frank Vrtochnick Thanks Community

May 16th, 2012 by milwaukeepolice

Milwaukee Police Officer Frank Vrtochnick, critically injured on Christmas Day when a suspected drunken driver struck him, showed bravery once again when he walked onto the stage last night at the Milwaukee Police Merit Awards Ceremony.

We’ve seen that bravery before during the months since his injury as he worked every day to gain back his strength. Frank received a standing ovation from the entire room at the Milwaukee Police Academy when he walked – unassisted – to the stage to receive the Purple Star from Chief Flynn.

He thanked the community for all their good wishes and support during the past five months.
