A Milwaukee Police Officer who was shot is being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Officers responded to the 4100 block of N. Toronto Street around 9:40 p.m. on June 1 to investigate a fight. While there, several vicious dogs affiliated with the residence being investigated, charged the officers. Officers attempted to control the dogs with non-lethal means but were unsuccessful. An officer discharged his service weapon and another officer was inadvertently struck by a bullet. The injured officer suffered a non-life threatening injury and is being treated at a local hospital. He is 32-years old and has five years experience. The officer who fired his weapon is 28-years old and has 5.5 years experience. He will be placed on administrative duty as per policy. The investigation is ongoing by Milwaukee Police Detectives.
