Help from Citizen Leads to Arrests in Attempted Armed Robbery

With the help of an alert citizen, officers from District Five of the Milwaukee Police Department arrested two teenagers wanted in an attempted armed robbery on the North Side. Officers responded to the 300 block of E. Capitol Drive around 4:10 p.m. on October 10 and met with the victim, a 59-year-old woman. The woman told officers she was walking to her car when two females approached her, grabbed her purse, and shoved her to the ground. The suspects were scared off by a car that came into the parking lot and they ran off. A witness informed officers the suspects had run into a nearby store. The suspects, a 15-year-old female from West Allis and a 15-year-old female from Milwaukee, were located and taken into custody. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
