Milwaukee Police arrested a suspect wanted for an armed robbery after responding squads saw him running from the crime scene. MPD officers on patrol near N. 35th Street and W. Capitol Drive around 11:45 p.m. on July 24 were flagged down by a citizen who said there was an armed robbery that just took place at a gas station at N. 27th Street and W. Capitol Drive. As the officers responded to the gas station, a man spotted the officers and started running through yards while holding his waistband. Officers chased the 26-year-old suspect and took him into custody in the 3900 block of N. 29th Street. A gun that was believed to have been used in the armed robbery was located in the 3900 block of N. 28th Street. Surveillance video from the gas station was used to positively identify the suspect and he faces charges of Armed Robbery, Resisting an Officer, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
