Milwaukee Police arrested five individuals after they were involved in a carjacking on the Northwest Side and led police on a pursuit. District Seven officers responded to the 6800 block of W. Melvina Street around 8:00 p.m. on April 6 for a report of a car stolen during an armed robbery. The victim, a 31-year-old Milwaukee woman, told officers she was in her 2006 Nissan Altima when two suspects approached her, pointed a gun at her, and demanded the vehicle. The victim complied and the two suspects fled in the Altima. A short time later, officers located the Altima near N. 51st Boulevard and W. Custer Avenue and began to pursue the vehicle. The driver of the Altima lost control in the 4000 block of W. Hampton Avenue and crashed into the curb. Five suspects inside the car ran away from the scene but were quickly taken into custody. Those taken into custody include a 15-year-old male, two 16-year-old males, and two 17-year-old males. A gun believed to be used in the crime was found near one of the suspects when he was arrested. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
