A convicted felon is arrested by Milwaukee Police just minutes after he fired shots into the air on Milwaukee’s North Side. District Five officers responded to a ShotSpotter call for four shots fired in the 3900 block of N. 19th Place just before 10:00 p.m. on May 23. The officers saw a suspect run away from the scene and then throw a gun to the ground. The 56-year-old Milwaukee man was quickly arrested. Officers found nine grams of heroin in the suspect’s pants and four fired casings near where the gun was fired. The suspect is a convicted felon and has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1977. Charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver will be presented by MPD to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
