Milwaukee Police arrested a convicted felon after he pointed a shotgun at a victim on the City’s West Side. District Three officers responded to the 2500 block of W. Cherry Street around 1:45 a.m. on July 26 for a report of a subject with a gun. The victim, a 42-year-old woman, told officers she was on her porch when a known suspect approached her and pointed a gun at her before fleeing. As officers began searching for the suspect, a caller in the 2200 block of W. Cherry Street told 911 dispatchers she saw a man in the alley matching the description of the suspect with a shotgun. Officers located the suspect, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man, in the 1400 block of N. 22nd Street and arrested him. The man has a felony conviction in Illinois and faces charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon in this incident. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
