Fashion Faux Pas: Teenage Burglary Suspects Return to Crime Scene in Stolen Clothes

Wearing the clothes they had stolen from a business just a few hours before, two teenage suspects are arrested by Milwaukee Police near the crime scene. District One officers responded to The Shops of Grand Avenue, 275 W. Wisconsin Avenue, around 10:15 a.m. on September 23 for a report of a burglary. The owner of a clothing store told officers two suspects were seen on surveillance video earlier in the morning breaking into the business and taking several items of clothing, including jeans. Around 12:25 p.m., the owner saw the two suspects inside the mall and pointed them out to officers. Both suspects were wearing the jeans taken from the store that morning and matched the suspects on the surveillance video. The 14-year-old male and 16-year-old male were taken into custody and both admitted their role in the burglary. MPD is still seeking a third suspect. This case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
