Eight teenagers are arrested for their involvement in a series of armed robberies in Milwaukee after they crashed a stolen car. Officers from District Seven were dispatched to the 4200 block of N. 68th Street just before 9:00 p.m. on December 7 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers a group of suspects came up to him, implied they had a weapon, began to punch him, and took his cell phone and wallet. About an hour later, District Seven officers located a vehicle that was stolen and believed may have been involved in this armed robbery as well as others. The driver of the vehicle fled from police and officers pursued it. Less than two minutes later, the car crashed into a tree in the 4300 block of N. 72nd Street. Six of the eight people inside the vehicle ran away, but were quickly taken into custody. Two more were arrested at their homes a short time later. The suspects are believed to be responsible for the armed robbery on N. 68th Street and at least five others that day throughout Milwaukee’s North Side. Three females and five males were taken into custody ranging in age from 13 to 17-years-old. MPD will present charges against them to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
