District Three Officers Prevent Attempted Armed Robbery

Officers from District Three of the Milwaukee Police Department were in the right place at the right time as they prevented a convicted felon from potentially committing a robbery. The officers were on patrol in the 2900 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue around 10:25 p.m. on July 2 when they were flagged down. A 45-year-old Milwaukee man told officers the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded his belongings. The suspect was walking away from the scene and officers were able to take him into custody. The officers also found a loaded semi-automatic gun next to the suspect. The suspect, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, is a convicted felon and has a criminal record dating back to 2008. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
