A burglary suspect didn’t get far as two officers from Milwaukee Police District Four arrested him just steps away from the crime scene. The officers responded to a business in the 9000 block of W. Appleton Avenue around 5:40 a.m. on April 19 for a report of a burglary. When they arrived at the scene, they saw the suspect running away from the building. The officers caught up to the 19-year-old Milwaukee man and arrested him. Officers also found a crowbar near the store’s exit that the suspect was believed to have used to break into the business. The suspect faces charges of Burglary-Armed With a Dangerous Weapon, Resisting an Officer, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
