Officers from the Milwaukee Police Department’s Office of Community Outreach and Education arrested a suspect who attempted to rob a bank on the Northwest Side. At approximately 11:10 a.m. on October 1, a suspect entered the BMO Harris Bank at 8300 W. Silver Spring Drive. He approached a teller, implied a weapon, and handed over a note demanding money. The suspect left the bank without receiving any money and an employee called MPD to provide a description of the suspect. Responding officers located him in the 5900 block of N. 84th Street and took him into custody just minutes later. Officers found a BMO Harris deposit slip in his sweatshirt and a construction hat and vest inside of his backpack, which according to witnesses he wore during the crime. The suspect is a 22-year-old Milwaukee man and is a convicted felon with a 2011 armed robbery conviction. Milwaukee Police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
