District Five officers from the Milwaukee Police Department arrested two suspects, including a convicted felon, and are searching for a third following the armed robbery of a business. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of E. Capitol Drive at about 10:45 a.m. on September 24. An employee told officers a suspect tried to hide window tint inside of his pants and when the employee approached the suspect and the two men that were with him, all three displayed handguns. The suspects then left the store and fled in a car with the stolen item. Around 12:45 p.m., District Five officers on patrol noticed a vehicle with two occupants matching the description of the car used in the earlier crime. Officers took the driver, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, into custody in the 1900 block of W. Brown Street. The other occupant in the vehicle, a 27-year-old Milwaukee man, had exited the car earlier but he was located and taken into custody in the 1900 block of N. 19th Street. Officers recovered a gun from one of the suspects. Police are still searching for the third suspect. The 21-year-old suspect has a criminal record dating back to 2011 and currently has an open court case on a charge of retail theft in Milwaukee County. The 27-year-old suspect has a criminal record dating back to 2006 including a felony armed robbery conviction. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
