A felon armed with a gun is off the streets and charged after officers from District 5 of the Milwaukee Police Department arrest him while investigating an armed robbery. The officers responded to a call in the 1400 block of W. Locust Street on January 8 around 10:50 pm. As the officers were investigating, they saw the defendant, Charles V. Donnell, walking with another man. As the officer approached to talk to him, Donnell continued walking away. Donnell threw his pistol into a snow bank and fled from officers who caught and arrested him a short time later.
Donnell, 27 and from Milwaukee, has a lengthy arrest record including felony convictions for burglary and drug possession. He is now charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
