Officers from District Three of the Milwaukee Police Department arrested a convicted felon for stealing a piece of jewelry from a person on the City’s West Side. The officers responded to the 2300 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on March 13 and located the suspect who was wanted in the offense. The victim, a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers the suspect approached him, grabbed his necklace, and then ran away. The suspect, 46-year-old Alvin E. Simmons, was found a short distance away and the necklace was found in his pants pocket. Simmons, a convicted felon, was taken into custody and has been charged by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office with one count of Theft from Person. If convicted, Simmons faces either ten years in prison or a fine of up to $25,000.
