Milwaukee Police officers arrested two suspects, including a convicted felon, after they found a loaded gun and drugs during a traffic stop on the North Side. Officers from District Three were on patrol in the 2700 block of N. 46th Street around 5:50 p.m. on February 19 when they saw a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am stopped in the street and blocking traffic. The car also matched a description of a vehicle used in a recent crime. A male suspect, later identified as a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, approached the car and handed a backpack to the driver, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man. Officers stopped both men and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun, heroin, and crack cocaine in the backpack. Both men were immediately taken into custody. The 37-year-old is a convicted felon and has a criminal record dating back to 1997. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charges in the coming days.
