Convicted Felon Arrested Minutes After Attempted Strong Armed Robbery

Officers from District Five of the Milwaukee Police Department made a quick arrest after a convicted felon tried to steal money from a victim on the North Side. Around 10:45 p.m. on February 8, the officers were on patrol in the 3200 block of N. 5th Street when they were flagged down by the victim, a 27-year-old woman. The woman told them a few minutes earlier a man approached her and tried to grab money out of her jacket pocket before he fled on foot. The officers saw a man matching the suspect’s description nearby and took him into custody. The suspect is a 27-year-old Milwaukee man and a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 2006. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
