A suspect is arrested by officers from District Five of the Milwaukee Police Department after shooting three people. At approximately 11:20 pm on August 12, a 26-year-old Milwaukee man shot the victims during a gambling dispute in the 3200 block of N. 12th Street. Officers in the area on another assignment heard the shots being fired and saw the suspect and victims run into an alley. They chased the suspect on foot and took him into custody. During the chase, the suspect dropped the gun believed to be used in the shooting. The victims, all from Milwaukee, are a 20-year-old male, a 36-year-old male, and a 26-year-old female. Responding officers provided medical treatment to the victims and summoned the Milwaukee Fire Department. The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The shooting suspect is a convicted felon and has an extensive criminal record dating back to 2004. He has previous convictions of Battery by Prisoners, Possession of Cocaine, Substantial Battery, Resisting an Officer, and Criminal Damage to Property. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
