Convicted Felon Arrested in Shooting Incident

A convicted felon is arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department following a shooting incident on Milwaukee’s North Side. Officers from MPD’s Neighborhood Task Force and District Five responded to the 3200 block of N. 24th Street at about 11:30 p.m. on December 16 for a report of a subject with a gun. Witnesses told police that the suspect fired a gunshot inside a home following a verbal altercation. No one inside the home was injured and the suspect fled on foot. A short time later, responding officers saw a suspect matching the description walking in the 3400 block of N. 24th Street and attempted to stop him. The suspect ran away and threw his gun to the ground. Following a short foot pursuit, the 34-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody. The suspect is a convicted felon with a 2005 felony aggravated battery conviction. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
