District Three officers from the Milwaukee Police Department arrested a convicted felon wanted for an armed robbery and are seeking a second suspect in the case. Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of N. 22nd Street at about 8:25 p.m. on December 9 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, was walking when two suspects approached him. One of the suspects had a gun and both demanded his valuables. The suspects took his cell phone and wallet and fled on foot. About twenty minutes later, officers in the 2900 block of W. Wells Street saw a suspect that matched the description given by the victim. They attempted to stop the suspect but he ran away. The suspect, a 26-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody a short time later after trying to hide in some bushes. Police are currently searching for the second suspect. The man arrested is a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 2005 and felony convictions of burglary and substantial battery. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
