A convicted felon is arrested by District 7 officers from the Milwaukee Police Department after the suspect crashed his vehicle into a marked MPD squad car. Citizens flagged down the officers regarding a reckless vehicle at about 8:15 p.m. on December 28 near N. 32nd Street and W. Auer Avenue. The suspect’s car made a U-turn on N. 32nd Street and as it approached the squad car the suspect intentionally rammed into it. The officers were able to take the suspect, a 52-year-old man from Racine County, into custody. Police are still investigating what led to the suspect’s actions. Both officers, a 32-year-old man with 13 years of service and a 31-year-old man with five years of service, were treated and released from a local hospital after suffering minor injuries. The suspect is a convicted felon and has a criminal record dating back to 1996. It’s believed the suspect was involved in an earlier incident that day in the 3400 block of W. Fond du Lac Avenue where he tried to intentionally run over a pedestrian. Milwaukee Police will present charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
