Community Helps District Four Officers Solve Burglary

With the help of information from the community, Milwaukee Police arrested two teenagers wanted in connection with a burglary. At approximately 4:05 am on May 27th, the Family Dollar store at 6000 W. Silver Spring Drive was burglarized after a brick was thrown through the window and several box fans were stolen. On May 30th, two District Four officers were investigating an accident when they were approached by a citizen who said they knew the identity of the person who burglarized the business. The officers followed up with the suspect’s mother and located and arrested him that evening in the 5700 block of N. 65th Street. The suspect, a 15-year-old Milwaukee male, confessed to the crime and identified one of the other suspects involved in the burglary. Officers made contact with the other suspect’s mother about her son’s involvement, and at approximately 1:40 am on May 28th the second suspect, another 15-year-old Milwaukee male, was brought into District Four by his mother and was taken into custody. The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
