Milwaukee Police arrested a teenage suspect wanted for attempted robbery after a citizen witness helped officers locate him. District Four officers responded to the 11700 block of W. Hampton Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on May 23 for a report of an attempted strong armed robbery. The victim, a 58-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers he was approached by an unknown suspect who demanded his car keys. The victim refused and the suspect began striking him before he eventually fled on foot. A witness saw the crime take place and followed the suspect in his vehicle while giving updates to the officers. The suspect, a 17-year-old Milwaukee man, was located a few blocks away in the 11100 block of W. Hampton Avenue and taken into custody. MPD will present charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
