UPDATE: Burglary Suspect Caught on Tape; Help MPD Identify Him

Milwaukee Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect seen in surveillance video (pictures below) committing a crime. Just after 6:00 p.m. on January 15, the suspect used a tool to pry open a door at a building in the 100 block of E. National Avenue. He then went into a vehicle where he stole property before he fled. The suspect is described as a black male, with a mustache and goatee, wearing a black headband, a large black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a dark green hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was also wearing a blue lanyard around his neck. Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7222.

UPDATED (1/22/15 at 2:40 p.m.): The suspect wanted in the January 15 burglary in the 100 block of E. National Avenue has been identified and is currently in custody. The 41-year-old man had been arrested on January 16 by another jurisdiction and when his picture was broadcast on local media a positive identification was made. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
