A bank robbery suspect is arrested and charged after officers from District Three of the Milwaukee Police Department recognize the suspect on a wanted poster. According to the criminal complaint, 45-year-old Mark A. Friend, of Milwaukee, walked into the BMO Harris Bank at 2120 W. Wisconsin Avenue on May 27, gave the teller a demand note, and fled with money. On May 29, two officers from District Three investigated a battery complaint involving Friend, who had not yet been identified as the bank robbery suspect. The next day, the officers viewed a MPD Bank Robbery Wanted poster that had pictures from the bank robbery and spotted Friend. On June 2, Friend was arrested and confessed to the crime. He faces one count of Robbery of a Financial Institution and could face more than 40 years in prison if convicted.
