Bank Robbery Solved, Charges Issued

Two suspects are now in custody for the robbery of the US Bank, 2303 N. Farwell that occurred on May 22, 2012 at 10:31 a.m.

Two suspects had entered the bank and confronted two tellers making demands for money after displaying demand notes. The suspects fled from the bank into a red vehicle with an unidentified driver.

Crime scene investigation resulted in the recovery of bank video as well as video from the adjacent businesses. Witness interviews at the bank ultimately provided positive results when a line up was conducted. On May 29, detectives from the Metropolitan Division received a call from a citizen who had viewed the video of the offense on the Milwaukee Police Department’s YouTube channel at¬†. The caller recognized the suspects. On May 30, police arrested Antonio Causey. He was charged on June 3 with one count of robbery of a financial institution. A felony warrant was issued for the second suspect.

On June 3 at 12:45 p.m. Neighborhood Task Force Officers Brian Schull and Ken Walkowiak located the second suspect at his mother’s residence. He has not yet been charged.

Great job by MPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau Metropolitan Division. These detectives who work on bank robberies always get the bad guy! Additionally, these detectives also provide training for bank personnel on how to react and gather information during a bank robbery.
