App Helps Officers Locate Stolen Phone, Arrest Robbery Suspect

A strong armed robbery suspect is arrested by Milwaukee Police officers after they use the “Find My iPhone” app to locate the stolen phone and the suspect. District One officers responded to the 1900 block of E. Park Place just after 8:00 p.m. on December 3 where they met with the victim, a 22-year-old woman from Milwaukee. The victim told police a suspect approached her, shoved her and stole her phone before fleeing in a vehicle. The victim, using her GPS app, told officers the phone was in the area of N. 79th Street and W. Glendale Avenue. Officers responded to that area and found a car that matched the description of the vehicle used in the armed robbery. The driver of the car also matched the description of the suspect. The stolen cell phone was found in the car and the driver was taken into custody. The suspect is a 17-year-old Milwaukee male who will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
